I’ve mentioned Crowdtap on a few occasions but I thought it might be helpful to explain exactly what Crowdtap is.
So what is Crowdtap?
Crowdtap is a WOM (Word of Mouth) marketing site. They work with brand names to get the opinions and ideas of consumers like you and me. They ask questions (polls), show short videos and open up discussions on a variety of brands and topics. It is our job to give honest opinions, share videos and participate in the discussions. I’ll break each activity down.
Levels – There are 7 levels total
Level 1 – Cardboard – everyone starts off at this level
Level 2 – Plastic – You reach this level by reaching 1,000 points
Level 3 – Oak – You reach this level by reaching 2,500 points
Level 4 – Bronze – You reach this level by reaching 5,000 points
Level 5 – Silver – You reach this level by reaching 10,000 points
Level 6 – Gold – You reach this level by reaching 25,000 points
Level 7 – Platinum – You reach this level by reaching 100,000 points
The benefits increase with each level. At level 1, you’ll be able to do Quick Hits. At level 2, you’ll be able to participate in discussions you’re invited to. Level 3 means you’ll have the opportunity to host parties and receive samples. Level 4 raises your priority level so earlier invites! 🙂 At level 5, you’ll earn 5% cash back for every $10 you earn. Level 6, test newer features and be a bigger voice. Level 7 is the ultimate level.
Quick Hits –
These are the polls and videos. They’re quick and easy to do.
Polls – You earn points for each poll answered. They’re very simple. Sometimes you’ll have a lot and other times you’ll have maybe 10. The polls are pretty self-explanatory. They ask a question and you select the best fitting answer.
Videos – You’ll receive points and money for viewing and sharing the videos. These are often just a short clip. Sometimes they’re about a movie coming out, other times they’re about an online product/service or an in-store product. The videos are quite simple and sharing is easy. You also have the option of opting out of sharing videos but you won’t receive money for them, just the points. After you view the video, you rate it. Then you either accept or decline the challenge of sharing it. If you decide to share, they give you a personalized short link, a Facebook share button and a Twitter share button so it’s really easy. If you share, you need 4-5 people to view the video through your link. You’ll receive up to 500 points and $1 if you successfully share the video with 5 people and they rate it (note that you won’t receive any credit if they view the video but do not rate it with a thumbs up or thumbs down).
New Actions –
This is where you’ll be invited to participate in Discussions, receive invites to apply for hosting parties or sampling products. You’ll see a red circle with a number in it when you have something to check out.
My Actions –
Once you’re accepted to a discussion or hosting a party, you’ll have links under this tab for each activity you’re participating in. Your first answer in discussions is worth 200 points, after that, you can comment under other answers, which will be worth 25 points, but you can no long answer that question. Sometimes they add questions to the already existing discussion and you’ll want to answer each question as they pop up as they will be worth 200 points (you’ll receive an email notification when more questions are asked). You can also “like” other answers to the questions and gain 50 points when you “like” 10 answers.
Rewards & Charities –
On Crowdtap, you can cash out for Amazon gift cards. When you do cash out, Crowdtap will donate 5% of the amount you’re cashing out and give it to a charity you select (from the ones participating). You can opt to donate more of your earnings but you can’t give less. The processing time of the gift card takes about 3 days and then you’re sent an email confirmation letting you know it’s ready to use.
Head over to Crowdtap today and start tappin! If you have any questions, please feel free to comment or contact me through my “Contact Me” tab. 🙂
