In another post I mentioned that I keep my makeup and skin care pretty simple and basic, however, I always love trying new things so I was excited to be one of the bloggers chosen to review a box from Beauty Box 5. I received my box a couple weeks ago and have been fun trying out the new products in it.
The box I received contained:
2) Freeman Facial Anti-Stress Masks with Dead Sea Minerals
1) Everyday Minerals Blush
1) Makeup Geek Eye Shadow Refill
1) Bodyography Foundation Primer
1) Pssssst! Instant Dry Shampoo
I’ve used Freeman facial masks before and love them. I don’t use masks very often because, well, I forget and being a mommy of 4, I just don’t take the time to remember. However, it’s always fun to treat yourself to a little quiet time of pampering and I love using masks during those times.
I really LOVE Everyday Minerals products. I’ve used them before and love the way they feel and go on my skin. I prefer the loose powders, foundations, eye shadows and blushes to the compacts anyway. For me, they’re just easier to use. The blush shade I received in my Beauty Box 5 was called ‘Girl Friday’ and it was a nice shade of blush for me.
The last three products in my box are ones that I had never heard of. I don’t usually wear eye shadow but once in a while, I will put some on. The shade of the Makeup Geek eye shadow was a little darker than I normally wear (when I wear some) but it goes on nice and easy.
I had heard of foundation primer before but I’ve never heard of the brand, Bodyography. I have to say between the blush and this primer, these were my two favorite things in the box. I had never used a foundation primer but I was so amazed on how it made my foundation go on so much easier and smoother in application that when I run out of this tube, I will have to find some more!
And last but not least, the Pssssst! Dry Shampoo. My first that was… “what in the world is instant dry shampoo?!?!?!” lol I had never heard of such a thing! I will say that after reading the ingredients in it, I decided not to try it. I’m not fond of the idea of putting butane, propane and some of the other ingredients on my hair/head. However, the concept behind the product is very interesting. According to the back of the product, you use the dry shampoo without water and it should make your hair feel, look and smell fresh. I could see where something like this would be great on camping trips or while traveling when you don’t have shower access!
